Free plan: 500 actions and 100 data credits a month, unlimited seats and tables. Launch is $167 a month billed annually ($185 monthly) for 15K actions and 2.5K to 3K data credits a month - the page gives both figures; Growth is $446 billed annually ($495 monthly) for 40K actions and 6K credits and unlocks CRM integrations, HTTP API and webhooks; Enterprise is quoted. Overages are billed separately, and the headline plan price is itself the sum of an actions fee and a data-credit fee.
Use tool ↗About Clay
Clay is a spreadsheet-shaped workbench for go-to-market teams: each row is a company or person, and each column calls a data provider, a model prompt or a web-research agent (Claygent) to fill in firmographics, contacts, intent signals or a drafted opener. It waterfalls through many enrichment vendors so a field is tried against several sources before it comes back empty, and the finished table flows into a CRM or sequencing tool, or is triggered by webhooks and signals such as job changes and funding rounds. The product began in Brooklyn in 2017, popularised the 'GTM engineer' role, and in 2026 raised $115M at a $7.1B valuation. Pricing is usage-based: a free tier for trying it, then plans from $167 a month billed annually that bundle actions and data credits, with extra usage billed on top.

Pros & cons of Clay
Clay is the tool to reach for when a prospect list needs more than one data vendor and some judgement per row - the waterfall enrichment and the research agent do in one table what used to take three subscriptions and a VA. It is not a cheap or simple tool: the useful plan starts at a few hundred dollars a month, credits are spent per column per row, and CRM sync and webhooks only arrive on the $446 tier. A one-person outbound effort can live on the free plan; a team that already runs sequences will want Growth and a budget for overages.
Pros
- Waterfall enrichment tries many providers per field, so coverage is higher than any one vendor
- Claygent runs open web research per row with a prompt, not just database lookups
- Free plan has unlimited seats and tables, so a team can trial it without buying seats
- Large integration and template ecosystem, and the company is well funded
Cons
- Launch at $167 a month still lacks CRM integrations, HTTP API and webhooks - those start at $446
- Actions and data credits are two separate meters, and the pricing page itself shows two different credit figures for Launch
- The spreadsheet metaphor hides real complexity; building a reliable table takes learning time
- Overage billing makes the monthly bill hard to forecast
Best for
- Outbound teams that need firmographic, contact and intent data from several vendors in one list
- GTM engineers automating research and personalisation per account with prompts and agents
- RevOps groups wiring job-change and funding signals into their CRM
Not for
- Solo founders who just need a few hundred verified emails - a single data vendor is cheaper
- Teams expecting a fixed monthly bill; usage pricing with overages is the model
Watch out: Every enrichment column spends credits on every row, so a 10,000-row table with five enrichment columns can exhaust a month's allowance in one run - test on a sample first.
