Use tool ↗About Zendesk AI
Zendesk AI is the automation layer of Zendesk's service suite: AI agents that handle multi-step requests across channels and act in connected systems, a Copilot that gives human agents context and next-best-action suggestions, Quality Assurance that scores every conversation rather than a sample, knowledge tools that draft and update help-centre content from recent tickets, and AI-driven workforce forecasting. The pricing is the part to understand: the AI agents are metered in automated resolutions, with a small allowance per agent in each Suite plan and the rest bought committed at $1.50 or pay-as-you-go at $2.00 each, while Copilot is a $50 per agent add-on on Professional and above. Zendesk is a San Francisco company founded in 2007.

Pros & cons of Zendesk AI
Zendesk AI is the sensible choice for a team already on Zendesk Suite and a poor reason to move there: every piece of it assumes Zendesk tickets, Zendesk knowledge and Zendesk agents. The per-resolution meter is fair in principle - you pay when the bot actually closes something - but the included allowance is tiny, Copilot is another $50 per agent on top of a $115 seat, and QA and workforce management are further line items, so a fully AI-enabled seat costs several times the headline plan price. Scoring 100 percent of conversations for QA is the feature most rivals still sample.
Pros
- Automated resolutions bill on outcomes, with a committed rate of $1.50 and no charge for failed hand-offs
- Quality Assurance covers all interactions, not a sample
- AI agents act in connected systems and work across chat, email and messaging channels
- 14-day trial includes Copilot on the Professional plan
Cons
- Copilot needs Professional or above and adds $50 per agent per month on a $115 seat
- Included resolutions are 5 or 10 per agent per month; real deflection volume is all paid extra
- QA, workforce management and advanced AI agents are separate add-ons quoted through sales
- Annual-commitment prices are the headline; monthly billing costs up to 30 percent more
Best for
- Suite Professional and Enterprise customers with the ticket volume to justify committed resolutions
- Support leaders who want QA across every conversation rather than a sampled few
- Teams whose knowledge base is already in Zendesk and want it maintained from ticket data
Not for
- Small teams on Support Team or Suite Team, who cannot add Copilot and get five resolutions an agent
- Companies running support outside Zendesk; nothing here works standalone
Watch out: The resolution meter is what grows the bill: at $2.00 pay-as-you-go a bot resolving 2,000 tickets a month costs $4,000 before any seats, so size the committed pool against real volume before switching the AI agent on.
