Use tool ↗About Drag
Drag turns Gmail into a shared team inbox with Kanban or list boards, assignment and internal notes, pulling email, WhatsApp, live chat and a help centre into one place for support and sales teams. Its AI is now sold under the name Varley in four parts: Assists tag, draft and summarise, Copilot answers questions about the inbox, Intelligence reports, and Agents resolve conversations on their own by acting in Stripe, Slack, HubSpot, Zendesk and other connected tools before handing off what they cannot finish. A REST API covers boards, cards and sequences, and an MCP server exposes 47 tools to Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants. The product is built by DragApp.com Limited in London, founded in 2017, which reports more than 240,000 sign-ups since launch.

Pros & cons of Drag
Drag turns Gmail into a shared team inbox with Kanban boards, and since autumn 2026 its AI is packaged as Varley: drafting and triage come with the $18 Plus seat and 1,000 monthly credits, while the autonomous Agents that resolve tickets by acting in Stripe, Slack and other tools need the $24 Pro seat and 2,000 credits. With 240,000 sign-ups since 2017 and a named London company behind it, the scale is real. The $12 Starter seat is the inbox only, so the headline price buys none of the AI without buying credits on top.
Pros
- Real reported scale: 240,000+ sign-ups since 2017 with named customers such as Canva, Uber and MIT
- Varley Agents act in Stripe, Slack, HubSpot and Zendesk rather than only drafting text, and hand-offs to humans cost nothing
- Published per-action credit prices, so the AI bill can be modelled before rollout
- REST API plus an MCP server with 47 tools for external AI assistants
- 7-day trial with every Pro feature and no card
Cons
- AI credits are per seat and do not roll over; a busy inbox burns the allowance before month-end
- Agents, API and MCP sit on the top Pro tier only
- Built around Gmail specifically, not a provider-agnostic inbox
- Monthly billing adds $4 to $6 per seat over the yearly rate
Best for
- Support or sales teams who live in Gmail and want a shared inbox without switching platforms
- Teams wanting an AI agent that can resolve routine tickets through existing tool integrations
- Teams that want to drive the inbox from Claude or ChatGPT through the MCP server
Not for
- Teams that need a dedicated helpdesk platform outside of Gmail
- Anyone expecting the $12 Starter seat to include the AI assistant
Watch out: An Agent resolution costs 50 credits ($0.50) and a Copilot question 10, so the 1,000 to 2,000 monthly credits per seat go quickly on a high-volume inbox; the AI was called 'Drag Agent' until 2026 and older reviews use that name.
