Use tool ↗About Replit
Replit runs the whole build loop in a browser tab: an agent writes the code while the same account supplies the database, storage, hosting and publishing, so nothing is installed locally. Paid plans now pair a credit balance for the stronger models with Free Mode, a credit-free agent mode whose allowance refreshes every few hours. Core is $18 a month on annual billing with $20 of credits, Pro is $90 with $100 of credits and up to 15 collaborators, and anything past the balance bills pay-as-you-go by effort. Mobile apps cover iOS and Android.

Pros & cons of Replit
Still the most complete build-and-ship-from-a-browser setup, and the new credit-free Free Mode makes everyday iteration cheaper than it was. The bill is still set by the agent, though: anything that needs the stronger models draws on a $20 balance on Core and then runs pay-as-you-go by effort.
Pros
- Editor, agent, database, storage and publishing in one browser workspace
- Free Mode allowance refreshes every few hours on paid plans, so routine chat does not burn credits
- Annual billing trims Core to $18 and Pro to $90
- iOS and Android apps for checking and nudging builds on the go
Cons
- Effort-based overage makes the bill unknowable in advance
- Core's $20 of model credits goes quickly on agent-heavy work
- The free Starter plan has dropped off the pricing page, so the free path is harder to judge
- No public API found for driving the agent programmatically
Best for
- Solo builders who want code, database and hosting in one account without local setup
- Prototypers who can do most iteration in Free Mode and save credits for hard steps
- Small teams (up to 15 on Pro) shipping internal tools from a browser
Not for
- Teams that need a fixed, predictable monthly AI bill
- Developers who want to drive the agent programmatically, since no public agent API was found
Watch out: Core's $20 covers model credits, not unlimited agent time: once Free Mode limits are reached and the balance is spent, the agent bills pay-as-you-go at whatever effort it decides to use. Set a usage budget before the first long session.
