What our research says

Replit

Still the most complete build-and-ship-from-a-browser setup, and the new credit-free Free Mode makes everyday iteration cheaper than it was. The bill is still set by the agent, though: anything that needs the stronger models draws on a $20 balance on Core and then runs pay-as-you-go by effort.

Pros

  • Editor, agent, database, storage and publishing in one browser workspace
  • Free Mode allowance refreshes every few hours on paid plans, so routine chat does not burn credits
  • Annual billing trims Core to $18 and Pro to $90
  • iOS and Android apps for checking and nudging builds on the go

Cons

  • Effort-based overage makes the bill unknowable in advance
  • Core's $20 of model credits goes quickly on agent-heavy work
  • The free Starter plan has dropped off the pricing page, so the free path is harder to judge
  • No public API found for driving the agent programmatically

Rork

Rork now generates native SwiftUI and Kotlin rather than React Native, and native iPhone apps are included at the $20 Pro tier, which makes it one of the cheapest routes from a prompt to a real App Store build. The free plan only designs screens, though, and 100 credits a month runs out quickly once device builds and simulator time start drawing on the same balance.

Pros

  • Native SwiftUI and Kotlin output instead of a cross-platform wrapper
  • iPhone, Android and web builds all included in the $20 Pro plan
  • App Store tooling: Screenshot Studio and a listing reviewer
  • Projects are private on every plan, and code can be exported to Xcode via GitHub

Cons

  • Free plan cannot build or publish, only design
  • iOS builds and cloud simulator sessions cost extra credits on top of each prompt
  • iPad, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, games and widgets need Max at $200 a month or more

Which one fits

Choose Replit if you need

  • Solo builders who want code, database and hosting in one account without local setup
  • Prototypers who can do most iteration in Free Mode and save credits for hard steps
  • Small teams (up to 15 on Pro) shipping internal tools from a browser

Choose Rork if you need

  • Founders who want a native iPhone and Android app without writing Swift or Kotlin
  • Indie makers who need App Store screenshots and listing checks alongside the build
  • Teams moving a prototype out of a web-only app builder into native mobile
