What our research says

Pico

A quick route from idea to a live, shareable mini web tool without touching code, with honest limits: no backend, no mobile. The bigger worry is the project's pulse — the marketing site now renders as an empty shell, which forces this record to rely on its app bundle.

Pros

  • Prompt-to-deployed-URL in a single step, with conversational editing after
  • Practical extras: Sheets integration, password protection, custom domains
  • Creator revenue share (30%) on subscriptions triggered by remixes
  • Generated code is yours to use commercially per its own FAQ

Cons

  • Public marketing, docs and pricing pages no longer render without the JS app
  • Deliberately low ceiling — front-end microapps only
  • Maintenance and company status are hard to gauge, a real risk for paid plans

Replit

The most complete build-and-ship-from-a-browser setup available, but the pricing model shifted underneath it — you are buying a credit balance, and the agent decides how fast it drains.

Pros

  • Agent, database, hosting and deploy live in one account with no local install
  • The free Starter tier still allows a published project
  • Credits carry a stated dollar value, so overage arithmetic is at least legible
  • $20/month entry price is low for everything bundled in

Cons

  • Effort-based overage makes the bill unknowable in advance
  • The included $25 of credits on Core goes quickly on agent-heavy work
  • Monthly billing is priced above the annual rate on every tier
  • No public API for driving the agent programmatically

Which one fits

Choose Pico if you need

  • Non-coders shipping one-purpose tools like calculators and quizzes to a URL
  • Founders validating a small idea before investing in real development
  • Creators monetizing remixable GPT-backed mini-apps

Choose Replit if you need

  • Non-engineers turning an idea into a deployed, hosted application
  • Developers prototyping without touching any local setup
  • Classrooms and workshops where nothing can be installed
