What our research says

Freddy AI

Freddy AI only makes sense if you already run on Freshworks: it is the AI switched on inside Freshdesk and Freshservice, not something you can point at another helpdesk. Within that world it is priced plainly - a per-agent copilot on the two upper plans and bot usage counted in sessions with 500 thrown in - and the pre-built commerce agents with Shopify and Stripe actions are a genuine shortcut for small support teams. Teams on the Growth plan cannot buy the copilot at all, and the session meter is where a busy inbox turns into a surprise.

Pros

  • Pre-built agents that act in Shopify, Stripe and PayPal, plus a studio for custom agents
  • Copilot licences can be bought for a subset of agents rather than every seat
  • 500 AI Agent sessions included before the per-100 meter starts
  • Insights answers plain-language questions about ticket trends and sends root-cause alerts

Cons

  • Copilot requires the Pro or Enterprise base plan, so the real entry cost is $55 plus $29 per agent
  • AI Agent sessions beyond 500 are billed at $49 per 100, and an email session spans 72 hours
  • Locked to Freshworks products; no use with Zendesk, HubSpot or a custom stack
  • Pricing pages show annual-billing rates only

Fin

Fin is the most mature of the per-resolution support agents, with three years of production use and the tooling, simulations, regression tests, QA, that teams need before letting an agent touch refunds. The $0.99-per-outcome model is attractive when deflection is high and unattractive when the agent resolves little, and the definition of an outcome is what you negotiate over. Running it on Zendesk or Salesforce avoids Intercom's seat fees but imposes a 50-outcome monthly floor; small support teams with a few hundred tickets a month should model both before signing.

Pros

  • Pays per resolved outcome rather than per seat, with a published $0.99 rate (15 October 2026)
  • Works on Intercom and on Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot and Freshdesk
  • Can act through Procedures, APIs, data connectors and MCP, not only answer
  • Simulation, regression testing, QA and observability tools before and after changes go live
  • 14-day trial with unlimited outcomes and no card

Cons

  • Outcome definitions and the $9.99 qualification charge make the effective price harder to model than a seat fee
  • 50-outcome monthly minimum when used with a third-party helpdesk
  • Operator, Copilot and Voice are separate charges on top of the per-outcome rate
  • Company rebrand from Intercom to Fin in 2026 means documentation and contracts still carry both names

Which one fits

Choose Freddy AI if you need

  • Freshdesk or Freshservice customers on Pro or Enterprise who want reply drafting and summaries without a second vendor
  • E-commerce support teams that want a bot able to check orders and process refunds through Shopify, Stripe or PayPal
  • Service managers who want alerts on CSAT dips and SLA breaches without building reports

Choose Fin if you need

  • Support teams with a large, well-maintained help centre where deflection can reach the levels the per-outcome price assumes
  • Companies already on Intercom, or on Zendesk, Salesforce, HubSpot or Freshdesk that want an agent without switching helpdesk
  • Teams that need the agent to take actions, such as refunds or account changes, through APIs and MCP
