What our research says

Apollo.io

Apollo is the default choice for a small sales team that wants database, sequencing and dialler in one subscription without a ZoomInfo contract, and the agent layer now does the list-building and first-draft outreach that used to need a separate tool. The catch is the credit meter: AI research, enrichment and exports all draw from a pool that resets monthly, so the sticker price is the floor, not the bill.

Pros

  • Database, sequencing, dialler, enrichment and meeting booking in one tool at $49 per user
  • A real free plan for light use, with no card required
  • MCP server, Chrome extension and Apollo Anywhere put the data inside Claude, ChatGPT, Gmail and the CRM
  • Agents trained on your ICP and playbooks handle list building and first drafts

Cons

  • Credits reset every cycle and do not roll over, and add-on credits bill immediately and recur
  • Data accuracy varies by region and seniority, and bounces still eat sender reputation
  • Price cards on the pricing page load client-side; the annual discount is not stated
  • API access, SSO and advanced security are reserved for the Custom tier

B2B Rocket

Bundling the contact database, the sending infrastructure and the agent into one price is the appeal here, since buying those three separately usually costs more. The catch is that the same bundle encourages very high-volume sending, and the deliverability consequences land on your domains, not the vendor's.

Pros

  • Contact data, sending, CRM and scheduling included rather than bolted on
  • Entry plan at $59/month is below most standalone data providers
  • Covers email, LinkedIn, phone, SMS and WhatsApp from one sequence
  • Managed service available if you would rather not run it yourself

Cons

  • No documented public API on the site
  • Contact-database accuracy is asserted but not independently verifiable
  • The jump from self-serve to managed pricing is very steep

Which one fits

Choose Apollo.io if you need

  • Startups and SMB sales teams that need prospecting data plus sequences under one roof
  • Reps who work from Gmail, a CRM or Claude and want the database reachable from there
  • Teams that want agents to research accounts and draft outreach from their own playbook

Choose B2B Rocket if you need

  • Small B2B teams with no SDR headcount who need a pipeline started
  • Agencies running outbound for several clients from one console
  • Buyers who want data, sequencing and inbox management in one bill
