Runs Stable Diffusion locally on a Mac with no setup
DiffusionBee wraps Stable Diffusion in a macOS app so generation runs on the machine's own GPU without assembling a Python environment. Beyond text-to-image it covers generative fill, image-to-image, upscaling and importing custom checkpoints, with Flux support on Apple silicon. The code is AGPL-3.0 on GitHub and the app is free; a Windows build remains a waitlist.
Free download with no account or subscription; you supply the hardware and accept the underlying model licences.
Use tool ↗Still the least painful way to get Stable Diffusion running on a Mac without touching a terminal, and nothing leaves your disk. But no release has shipped since August 2024, so treat it as frozen-but-usable rather than a tool that will track new models.
Watch out: Development looks stalled since late 2024, which means newer model formats may simply never load.
