Text-to-image model that gets words inside the picture right
Ideogram's distinguishing trick is legible typography: it renders the words in a prompt as readable text, which makes it the default pick for poster mockups, logo concepts and anything with a sign in frame. It also handles prompt expansion, style presets, region-level editing and character consistency across generations. Free use is throttled to a trickle of slow credits, so the paid tiers are mostly about buying priority in the queue.
Basic is around $8/month for 400 priority credits plus 100 slow credits a day; Plus $20 monthly or about $15 on annual for 1,000 priority credits and unlimited slow; Pro $60 monthly or about $42 annual for 3,000-3,500. Free accounts get roughly 10 slow credits a week. A credit is not an image: one Ideogram 4.0 generation at Quality costs 6 credits, while the same 6 buys about eight images on 2a Turbo. The pricing page is behind Cloudflare and could not be read directly, so these figures come from secondary trackers.
Use tool ↗If the image needs words in it, this is still the model that spells them correctly, and that single capability is worth more than a broader feature list to anyone making posters or packaging — everything else about it is merely competitive.
Watch out: Credits do not map to images. One Quality generation on Ideogram 4.0 costs six times what a Turbo image does, so the same plan is either 60 or 500 images depending on settings you may not think about.
