Use tool ↗About ArtBot
ArtBot is a web client for image generation that sends work to AI Horde, an open-source distributed network of volunteered GPUs, instead of running its own inference farm. Beyond plain text-to-image it exposes ControlNet, image-to-image, inpainting, live painting and image interrogation, plus a community showcase of what other people have made. There is no registration and no charge. It is maintained as an open-source project on GitHub by an independent developer, davely, based in California, and is community-supported rather than run by a company. Throughput depends on how much donated GPU capacity the Horde has at that moment.

Pros & cons of ArtBot
The most complete free Stable Diffusion front-end that asks nothing of you - no signup, no card, no credits. What you trade is predictability: jobs queue against volunteer GPUs, so speed varies with who happens to be sharing hardware. Fine for experimenting, wrong for a deadline.
Pros
- Genuinely free with no registration step
- Covers ControlNet, image-to-image, inpainting and live painting, not just prompt-to-image
- Image interrogation for reverse-engineering prompts from an existing picture
- Source is open on GitHub, so behaviour is auditable
Cons
- Generation speed depends on volunteer GPU availability, which fluctuates
- No commercial support - it is one developer's project
- No API of its own; automation means talking to AI Horde directly
- Model selection is bounded by what Horde workers have loaded
Best for
- Trying Stable Diffusion without creating an account
- Experimenting with ControlNet and inpainting for free
- People who want an open-source client they can inspect or self-host
Not for
- Commercial work with a delivery deadline
- Teams needing guaranteed throughput or an SLA
Watch out: Queue position on a volunteer network is not guaranteed - a busy Horde means waiting, and there is no paid tier to jump the line.
