What our research says

Cleanup.pictures

Still the fastest free object eraser on the open web when you need one photo cleaned and refuse to make an account. It has been frozen for years though, so anything at print resolution or in volume belongs in its own successor ClipDrop or in Photoshop's generative fill.

Pros

  • no signup or upload queue, usable within seconds of landing on the page
  • $3-5 a month is the cheapest unlimited-resolution inpainting subscription around
  • the inpainting model is documented as an API with samples for Node.js, SwiftUI and Kotlin

Cons

  • the site has not visibly changed since 2022 and still carries the pre-acquisition owner's copyright notice
  • one seat per subscription, with no team or shared billing option
  • output quality now trails newer generative-fill models on anything large
  • free exports are hard-capped at 720px, which is unusable for print

Stillgram

A narrow tool that does one thing genuinely well: crowds vanish from landmark photos without a round trip to anyone's server. The offline, on-device design is the real selling point for travel. The worry is maintenance — the App Store build has sat untouched since mid-2023.

Pros

  • Runs entirely on the iPhone Neural Engine — works offline and uploads nothing
  • Tap-to-keep control over which people stay in frame
  • Produces a short clip of the crowd disappearing, not just a still
  • Free tier is usable, if watermarked and capped at 1K

Cons

  • iOS only, with no web or Android version
  • App Store listing shows no update since June 2023
  • Free tier limits crowd removal to selfies and stamps a watermark
  • Pricing differs between the website and the App Store listing
  • No company entity or country published

Which one fits

Choose Cleanup.pictures if you need

  • one-off removal of a tourist, sign or timestamp from a photo
  • stripping logos or watermarks from images you already hold the rights to
  • real-estate and product shots that need depersonalising in seconds

Choose Stillgram if you need

  • travellers shooting busy landmarks without data roaming
  • people who want photos processed without cloud upload
  • quick crowd cleanup at capture time rather than in an editor later
