Cleanup.pictures

Still the fastest free object eraser on the open web when you need one photo cleaned and refuse to make an account. It has been frozen for years though, so anything at print resolution or in volume belongs in its own successor ClipDrop or in Photoshop's generative fill.

Pros

  • no signup or upload queue, usable within seconds of landing on the page
  • $3-5 a month is the cheapest unlimited-resolution inpainting subscription around
  • the inpainting model is documented as an API with samples for Node.js, SwiftUI and Kotlin

Cons

  • the site has not visibly changed since 2022 and still carries the pre-acquisition owner's copyright notice
  • one seat per subscription, with no team or shared billing option
  • output quality now trails newer generative-fill models on anything large
  • free exports are hard-capped at 720px, which is unusable for print

HitPaw Watermark Remover

As a browser eraser it does the job and the credits carry across HitPaw's whole online suite, which is decent value if you also enhance video or audio. Two things spoil it: the free tier only previews, and the yearly plan's 3,000 credits are barely more than three months of the monthly plan, so the annual discount is smaller than it looks.

  • Content-aware fill reconstructs background rather than smearing a patch
  • Handles watermarks, text, emojis, objects and people with the same tool
  • Runs in the browser on any OS with no install
  • One credit balance spans 48 tools across video, photo and audio

Cons

  • Free tier renders a preview only — you cannot download a result without paying
  • Credit maths favours the monthly plan: $79.99/year buys 3,000 credits against 1,200 a month for $24.99
  • Batch removal is a paid feature, so bulk cleanup is not testable up front
