AniEraser vs Cleanup.pictures

Two fact sheets from our own research, side by side — pricing, platforms, API access and status re-checked by us rather than quoted from the vendors. Cleanup.pictures publishes a starting price ($5); AniEraser does not. Only Cleanup.pictures has a free tier. Both ship a public API.

What our research says

AniEraser

AniEraser does the same watermark and object removal job as other Wondershare tools, backed by a large existing user base and apps on every major platform. It is not worth adopting now: Wondershare has scheduled a full shutdown for October 22, 2026, with paid renewals stopping a month earlier.

Pros

  • Covers watermark, text, shadow, and general object removal in one tool
  • Available on web, desktop, and mobile, not just browser
  • Backed by an established company with a large existing product line

Cons

  • Confirmed shutdown on October 22, 2026, with account data deleted afterward
  • No specific price is legible on the pricing page, only a percentage discount
  • Paid subscriptions and renewals stop a month before the full shutdown

Cleanup.pictures

Still the fastest free object eraser on the open web when you need one photo cleaned and refuse to make an account. It has been frozen for years though, so anything at print resolution or in volume belongs in its own successor ClipDrop or in Photoshop's generative fill.

Pros

  • no signup or upload queue, usable within seconds of landing on the page
  • $3-5 a month is the cheapest unlimited-resolution inpainting subscription around
  • the inpainting model is documented as an API with samples for Node.js, SwiftUI and Kotlin

Cons

  • the site has not visibly changed since 2022 and still carries the pre-acquisition owner's copyright notice
  • one seat per subscription, with no team or shared billing option
  • output quality now trails newer generative-fill models on anything large
  • free exports are hard-capped at 720px, which is unusable for print

Which one fits

Choose AniEraser if you need

  • Existing Wondershare Media.io users who already have this in their toolkit
  • Short-term one-off cleanup jobs before the shutdown date

Choose Cleanup.pictures if you need

  • one-off removal of a tourist, sign or timestamp from a photo
  • stripping logos or watermarks from images you already hold the rights to
  • real-estate and product shots that need depersonalising in seconds
