Use tool ↗About Activepieces
Activepieces is an open-source automation platform in the Zapier mould that now puts chat, AI agents, flows and tables in one workspace, with more than 760 integrations such as Gmail, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce and Shopify. The core is MIT-licensed, so teams can run it with Docker or Kubernetes on their own infrastructure instead of the hosted cloud, which runs in Frankfurt and carries a SOC 2 Type 2 audit. Activepieces Inc. was founded in 2022 and is registered in the United States. Usage is metered in credits: one per flow run and 2 to 20 per AI step depending on the model tier. The free plan gives 1,000 credits a month, Plus is $20 a month and Team $200 a month for 25 users.

Pros & cons of Activepieces
The strongest reason to pick it over Zapier or Make is the MIT licence: if the pricing stops working for you, you move the same flows onto your own hardware. The connector count is real and the free cloud tier is genuinely usable. The catch is credit metering — AI steps cost 2 to 20 credits each, so agent-heavy flows burn the allowance far faster than plain integrations do.
Pros
- MIT-licensed with self-hosting via Docker or Kubernetes
- More than 760 integrations covering Gmail, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce and Shopify
- Free forever cloud tier with unlimited flows and 1,000 credits a month
- SOC 2 Type 2 audit and EU (Frankfurt) hosting on the cloud version, plus API access on every tier
Cons
- Everything is credit-metered, and AI steps cost up to 20 credits per call
- The jump from Plus at $20 to Team at $200 a month is steep for small teams
- Self-hosting means you own upgrades, scaling and uptime yourself
Best for
- Teams that want Zapier-style flows without sending data to a vendor's cloud
- Developers who need to write their own connector rather than wait for one
- Embedding automation inside another product under a permissive licence
Not for
- Buyers who want the largest connector catalogue regardless of licence
- AI-heavy workloads on the cheap tiers, where frontier-model steps cost 20 credits a call
Watch out: Credit costs scale with model tier, not run count — one frontier-model step costs twenty times a plain flow run unless you bring your own AI keys on Plus or higher.
