Open-source generation APIs for images, text, audio and video
Pollinations exposes image, text, audio, video, 3D and embedding generation behind plain URL endpoints โ putting a prompt in the path of a request returns the generated file. The code is MIT-licensed and published on GitHub, and the service routes to models including Flux alongside hosted commercial ones. Registered accounts sit in rate-limited tiers, with a prepaid Pollen balance covering the premium models.
The free Seed tier requires registration and throttles to one request every five seconds on standard models; premium models draw on prepaid Pollen credits, quoted at roughly one Pollen per US dollar.
Use tool โThe cheapest way to bolt generation onto a hobby project, a Discord bot or a classroom demo โ a URL is the entire SDK, no key required to start. Do not put anything with an uptime promise on top of it.
Watch out: Free-tier output may be watermarked and the standard-model rate limit is one request per five seconds, which rules out batch generation.
