Synthetic voices, cloning and dubbing sold by the credit
ElevenLabs generates speech in dozens of languages from stock or cloned voices, and re-voices existing footage into another language while holding the original speaker's timbre. Everything is metered in credits — 10,000 free each month, 30,000 on the $6 Starter tier — and the commercial licence only begins at Starter. The same account also reaches speech recognition, sound effects, music and a conversational-agent runtime.
Credit-metered rather than minute-metered: Free is 10,000 credits/month with no commercial licence, Starter $6 is 30,000, Creator $22 is 121,000, Pro $99 is 600,000. Annual billing is charged as ten months, putting Starter near $5/month. Professional voice cloning needs Creator or above and workspace seats only appear at Scale ($299).
Use tool ↗The quality bar for synthetic speech and the easiest voice API to start on, but the credit meter is the actual product and it empties faster than the plan names imply.
Watch out: The free 10,000 credits carry no commercial licence, so anything published from them needs at least the $6 Starter plan.
