Altered

Altered is one of the few voice tools built around editing a performance you already recorded rather than generating one from scratch, and the licence attached to each tier is spelled out plainly. The catch is the two-axis meter: you can run out of morphing minutes or tokens independently, and the unrestricted commercial licence only starts at the $90 tier.

Pros

  • Speech-to-speech morphing keeps the original delivery instead of re-reading a script
  • Free tier plus a card-free week-long Creator trial
  • Desktop apps for Windows and Mac in addition to the browser studio
  • The licence terms of every tier are written out on the pricing page

Cons

  • API access, multi-seat and custom voice models are Enterprise-only
  • Two separate meters (minutes and tokens) make cost harder to forecast

ElevenLabs
