What our research says

Dewstack

Better wired into AI tooling than most documentation platforms - an MCP endpoint that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code search and fetch your docs is not something the older incumbents ship. The failed-search analytics are the standout feature. Priced above the usual small-team docs tool, with no free plan to soften the commitment.

Pros

  • MCP endpoint with OAuth lets assistants search and fetch documentation directly
  • FlowCapture Chrome extension records click-by-click steps into a draft guide
  • Analytics report searches that returned nothing, pointing at content gaps
  • Custom domain hosting and SmartDocs answer bot included on the published site

Cons

  • No free tier - $32/month annual is the floor
  • Estonian entity is small, with little public track record
  • Chatbot quality depends entirely on how complete your docs already are

Document360

The knowledge base underneath is conventional; what you pay for is the AI layer on top - cited search, a chatbot, decision trees, an MCP endpoint - plus enterprise plumbing like SSO and SCIM. Kovai has shipped business software long enough that this is not a weekend project. The catch is budgeting: nothing is priced publicly, and the quote is built from six variables at once.

Pros

  • AI search answers with a citation back to the source article, so readers can verify the answer
  • Ships an MCP server, so ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot can be pointed at the knowledge base
  • SSO and SCIM plus 60+ integrations (Slack, Salesforce, Zendesk) cover the enterprise checklist
  • Imports existing PDF and Word documentation instead of forcing a rewrite

Cons

  • No published price at any tier - you fill in a questionnaire and wait for a quote
  • The quote scales on workspaces, languages, team accounts and AI usage together, so the bill is hard to predict
  • The 14-day trial is the only way to evaluate it without a sales conversation

Which one fits

Choose Dewstack if you need

  • Support teams publishing a customer-facing knowledge base with a self-service bot
  • Ops teams turning screen recordings into step-by-step SOPs
  • Anyone who wants their docs queryable by an AI coding assistant over MCP

Choose Document360 if you need

  • Support teams that want a public help centre and an AI assistant over the same content
  • Enterprises with SSO, SCIM and multi-language requirements
  • Documentation that needs to be queryable by ChatGPT or Claude through MCP
