What our research says

Avoma

Avoma covers more of the revenue stack than a plain meeting recorder, taking a call from scheduling through transcription and coaching into forecasting. The catch is modular pricing: the advertised seat price buys only the meeting assistant, and the intelligence modules that justify the platform are billed separately.

Pros

  • Scheduling, recording, notes and CRM write-back in one subscription
  • Free viewer and collaborator seats keep non-recording colleagues off the bill
  • API and webhooks for exporting meeting data
  • In market since late 2017, with HIPAA compliance available on Enterprise

Cons

  • Conversation and revenue intelligence are extra per-seat add-ons
  • Startup tier caps at 25 paid seats, forcing an upgrade as teams grow
  • Enterprise requires a 10-seat minimum on annual billing

Demodesk

A serious European alternative to Gong and Chorus, and the GDPR posture, works-council documentation and EU entity are the actual reason to pick it. CRM writeback and coaching scorecards are the substance; the 98-language transcription matters if your pipeline is not English-only. It is a per-seat product priced accordingly, and the seat count forces you into Enterprise past 30 licences.

Pros

  • Transcription across 98 languages, not just English
  • Writes back to Salesforce, HubSpot and Pipedrive automatically
  • MCP server and agent connect included on every plan, not just Enterprise
  • Free viewer seats mean non-sellers can watch calls without a licence

Cons

  • Both self-serve tiers hard-cap at 30 licences
  • Coaching, CRM concierge and deal-risk alerts all sit behind the EUR 49 tier
  • Higher API limits with REST and SQL access are Enterprise-only

Which one fits

Choose Avoma if you need

  • Sales teams that want call notes landing in the CRM automatically

  • Customer-success groups tracking account health from meeting content

Choose Demodesk if you need

  • European sales teams with GDPR and works-council requirements
  • Multilingual pipelines where transcription quality outside English matters
  • Managers who want calls scored against their own scorecards, not a generic rubric
