Overview

About AVCLabs Video Enhancer AI

AVCLabs Video Enhancer AI is a Windows and macOS application from AVCLabs Inc., the AI arm of the Any Video Converter team, which started the brand in 2006 and shipped this product in November 2021. It runs restoration models locally over a video file: upscaling 480p, 720p or 1080p sources to 4K or 8K, reducing noise and grain, colourising black-and-white footage, stabilising shaky handheld shots, interpolating to a higher frame rate, blurring faces or plates, and removing unwanted objects. Everything is GPU-accelerated on your own machine, which is why it sells as software rather than a credit-metered cloud service.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of AVCLabs Video Enhancer AI

high confidence

Processing locally means no per-minute cloud bill and no uploading footage you would rather not upload, and the feature list goes past upscaling into colourisation, stabilisation and object removal. The price is the argument against it: $39.95 for one month is steep, and local processing means your GPU sets the speed.

Pros

  • Upscales 480p to 1080p sources up to 4K or 8K with GPU acceleration on your own machine
  • Covers denoising, colourisation, stabilisation, frame interpolation, face blurring and object removal in one app
  • A perpetual licence is sold alongside the monthly and yearly plans
  • Builds for Windows 10/11 and macOS 12 through 26
  • The vendor also ships an MCP server for its media tools, so the models are reachable from an agent

Cons

  • $39.95 for a single month is expensive against under $100 for a discounted year
  • Render speed depends entirely on your own GPU
  • No stated company country anywhere on the site, only 'AVCLabs Inc.' in the copyright

Best for

  • Restoring old or low-resolution footage without uploading it anywhere
  • Archive and family-video work where colourisation and denoising both matter
  • People who want a lifetime licence rather than a recurring cloud bill

Not for

  • Machines without a capable GPU, where render times become the bottleneck
  • Teams that need enhancement inside an automated pipeline rather than a desktop app

Watch out: The site runs near-permanent discount banners and its FAQ quotes older list prices, so the figure to trust is the one on the purchase page at checkout - on 15 October 2026 the perpetual licence was $149.90 against a $299.90 list price.
