Pricing

- Freemium
The pricing page lists four tiers (Free, Basic, Professional, Professional Plus) with a Monthly/Annual toggle labelled Save up to 50%, but the dollar amounts are injected by script and did not render to a plain fetch, and the vendor's blog posts about each plan carry no figures either; third-party trackers quote roughly $9-19 a month for Basic and $19-29 for Professional on annual billing, which we could not confirm on the vendor's page. Free exports 720p with an Animoto watermark; Basic removes it at 1080p; Professional adds 4K, Getty stock and voice-over; Professional Plus adds three seats and a resale licence. Non-profits and teachers get discounted plans on request.
Use tool ↗About Animoto
Animoto is one of the older browser video makers: pick a marketing template, drop in photos and clips, choose a licensed track, and it assembles a paced video you trim in a simple storyboard rather than a multi-track timeline. It is aimed at small businesses and social posts; the appeal is that a usable promo comes out in minutes, not fine control. The free tier exports 720p with a watermark and 50 music tracks; Basic removes the watermark and lifts output to 1080p; Professional adds 3,000 tracks, a Getty Images library of over a million assets, 4K, voice-over and hosted landing pages; Professional Plus gives three seats, 100 million Getty assets, a shared workspace and a resale licence. Founded in New York in 2006 by Brad Jefferson, Jason Hsiao, Stevie Clifton and Tom Clifton, Animoto has been part of Redbrick, a Victoria, BC portfolio of digital businesses, since August 2023.

Pros & cons of Animoto
Twenty years old and still doing the same job: template in, watchable promo out, no editing skill required. The stock and music licensing bundled into the paid tiers is the real value, since sourcing that separately costs more than the subscription. It is not an editor, and anyone expecting timeline control will bounce off it.
Pros
- Template library built for marketing and social formats
- Licensed music library and Getty Images stock included on paid tiers
- Storyboard editing is simple enough to hand to a non-editor
- Direct publishing paths to the major social platforms
- Free tier lets you evaluate output quality before paying
Cons
- Free exports carry Animoto branding and cap at 720p
- Month-to-month pricing is roughly double the advertised annual rate
- No timeline, no keyframes, limited control over pacing
- The site blocks automated readers, so pricing had to be verified indirectly
Best for
- Small businesses producing recurring social and ad videos without an editor
- Photo-and-clip promos where a template's pacing is good enough
- Teams that need licensed music and stock bundled into the subscription
Not for
- Anyone needing multi-track timeline editing or precise cuts
- Projects where the video must not look template-derived
Watch out: The headline prices are annual-billing rates; the pricing page advertises up to 50% savings on annual plans, so paying month-to-month can cost up to double for the same plan.
