Pros & cons of TensorPix
TensorPix does the thing desktop upscalers do without the desktop: 4K enhancement in a browser tab, on a phone if needed, with an API if you want to wire it into a product. Credit rollover for a year is unusually generous. Read the credit maths before subscribing, because ten credits a month is about twenty minutes of footage, which is small for real project work.
Pros
- Runs entirely in the browser, including on phones and tablets, with no install
- Documented REST API for upscaling and enhancement, not just a web app
- Unused credits roll over for up to twelve months
- Named legal entity and street address in Zagreb, which many rivals omit
Cons
- Advertised prices are annual-billing rates, so month-to-month costs more
- Ten credits a month on the entry tier is roughly twenty minutes of enhanced video
- Extra credits on the cheapest plan cost $1.50 each, nearly twice the Elite rate
Best for
- Restoring or upscaling short clips and archive footage without installing software
- Real estate and listing video where 4K output matters
- Developers wanting upscaling as an API call rather than a desktop render
Not for
- Long-form footage on the entry tier, where credits run out quickly
- Anyone needing offline or on-premise processing
Watch out: The free tier caps output at 720p, so you cannot evaluate the 4K result that is the reason to buy without paying first.
