Use tool ↗About Wan
Wan is the consumer creation platform for Alibaba Cloud's Wan family of generative video models. On the web and in its mobile apps you can generate video from text or images, edit existing clips by instruction, and create or edit images; the current Wan 3.0 model produces native clips of up to 30 seconds with sound and accepts up to 20 reference assets, including documents and web pages. Earlier generations, Wan 2.1 and Wan 2.2, were released as open weights under Apache 2.0 and can be run locally. Generation on the platform draws on monthly credits, and API access is sold separately through Alibaba Cloud.

Pros & cons of Wan
Wan is one of the cheapest ways to get watermark-free 1080p AI video with long clips, and its open-weight older models suit developers who want to self-host. Users who need clear commercial terms in writing or a non-Chinese provider for compliance reasons should check the terms before committing.
Pros
- Paid plans start at $5/month on yearly billing
- Native clips up to 30 seconds with sound
- Earlier Wan models are open weights under Apache 2.0
- Web, iOS and Android apps
Cons
- Watermark-free downloads, 1080p and clips over 10 s are paid features; Free runs one job at a time
- First paid period is non-refundable
- Platform credits do not cover API or other Alibaba products
Best for
- Creators on a budget who want long, watermark-free clips
- Developers who want open-weight video models to run locally
- Users who edit existing footage by text instruction
Not for
- Organisations that require a non-Chinese provider
- Users who need one subscription to also cover API usage
Watch out: Subscriptions auto-renew and the first month or year is non-refundable once activated; the credits apply only to creation on the Wan site, not to the API.
