Tayib is a phone app for iOS and Android that checks packaged food against Islamic dietary rules. A barcode scan looks the product up in its database, while a photo of the ingredient list is read with OCR and AI to flag pork derivatives, gelatin, alcohol and E-numbers that may be non-halal.
