Overview

About ReText

ReText is a rewriting toolkit aimed at students, copywriters and SEO writers. It paraphrases at low, medium or high intensity, swaps synonyms, checks grammar against language-specific rules, summarises, expands short text and generates posts through a chat panel, working across four languages with strong Russian support. Documents can be uploaded as DOCX or TXT and there is a browser extension. The free tier caps you at about a thousand characters a day per tool; Premium lifts that to a million characters per tool and unlocks AI detection, humanising and plagiarism checking. Premium works out at 7 dollars a month when paid six months at a time.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of ReText

medium confidence

A competent multi-tool rewriter that is notably better at Russian than the English-first competition, and cheap — a million characters per tool for the price of a coffee. The uncomfortable part is the positioning: the site sells detection-bypass as a feature, which is a different product from a writing assistant.

Pros

  • Three paraphrase intensities plus separate synonym replacement
  • Grammar checking tuned to language-specific rules rather than translated English rules
  • Summarise, expand and chat-based generation in the same account
  • DOCX and TXT upload plus a browser extension
  • Premium allowance is a million characters per tool, which is generous at the price

Cons

  • Free tier is roughly 1,000 characters a day per tool — a demo, not a usable free plan
  • The $7 rate needs six months paid up front; the true monthly rate is higher
  • API only through a business sales contact, and no named company or country anywhere on the site
  • Only four languages supported

Best for

  • Rewriting in Russian, where most competitors are weak
  • Cheap high-volume paraphrasing and summarising
  • Writers who want grammar, summarise and expand in one place

Not for

  • Academic work where detection-bypass claims are a disciplinary risk
  • Teams needing an API or integrations

Watch out: The site markets bypassing plagiarism and AI detection; using it for coursework is an academic-integrity problem regardless of whether the bypass works.
