Use tool ↗About Recal
Recal turns conversations into structured recaps: a summary, the decisions made and extracted action items with owners. Input can be a meeting recording, an uploaded audio or video file, a pasted block of text or email, a voice memo, a link to a video or podcast, or a Slack thread summarised by its bot; the vendor says it also reads screen shares and slides from video rather than only the audio. You can ask questions across your saved recaps. Slack and Linear integrations are live, while Notion, Jira, GitHub, PostHog and a meeting browser extension are labelled as coming soon in the site navigation. Starter is free with 30 minutes of async recaps a month; Pro is $14 a month.

Pros & cons of Recal
Ingests Slack threads, meetings, uploads and pasted text, then produces recap summaries, decisions and task lists, with Linear and Slack as the live integrations today. The free plan covers only 30 minutes of async recaps a month, so any real team use lands on a paid tier quickly.
Pros
- Covers meetings, uploads, pasted text, links and async Slack threads, not just calls
- Pushes extracted tasks into Linear and summarises Slack threads in place
- Free Starter tier exists to test before paying
- 14-day money-back guarantee on paid plans
Cons
- Free tier capped at just 30 minutes of async recaps per month
- Meeting-recap and async-recap minutes are tracked and billed separately, complicating usage estimates
- Notion, Jira, GitHub and the meeting browser extension are still marked as coming soon
Best for
- Teams wanting meeting and Slack recaps pushed into existing task tools
- Async-first teams summarizing long Slack threads into decisions
- Managers wanting a searchable record of what was decided and by whom
Not for
- Solo users with very light meeting or Slack volume
- Teams needing a dedicated real-time live transcript view during calls
Watch out: Several integrations shown on the site (Notion, Jira, GitHub, PostHog) and the browser extension carry a 'Soon' label, so check the one you need is live before paying.
