Two lifetime purchases, no subscription. Pay Per Use is $15 and includes 20 extractions, with more at about 8 cents each (100 for $8). Unlimited is $35 and runs on your own OpenAI API key, so model usage is billed by OpenAI instead. Both cover unlimited devices and lifetime updates; card and PayPal are accepted.
Use tool ↗About Pixelcode
Pixelcode addresses a narrow annoyance: code you can see but cannot select — a screenshot in a slide deck, a frame of a conference talk, a PDF. You crop the region with the extension, it runs recognition over it, detects the language from around thirty options, keeps the indentation and copies plain text to your clipboard. It is sold as a one-off purchase rather than a subscription: $15 buys 20 free extractions plus pay-as-you-go credits at roughly eight cents each, and $35 buys unlimited use if you supply your own OpenAI key, which the vendor says never leaves your device. The terms name no company and only state that US law applies.

Pros & cons of Pixelcode
Pixelcode is a single-purpose utility priced like one: a one-off $15 or $35 with no recurring charge, which is rare and welcome. Bring-your-own-key on the $35 tier means you are not paying a margin on inference. The trade-off is that it lives entirely inside a Chrome extension distributed by private link, with no company name behind it and no fallback if the extension stops being maintained.
Pros
- One-off purchase with lifetime updates and no subscription
- Detects the language among 30+ options and preserves indentation
- Unlimited tier runs on your own OpenAI key, which stays on your device
- Precision crop tool works over screenshots, video frames and PDFs
Cons
- Chrome extension only, with no web app or other browser
- Distributed by private link rather than the Chrome Web Store
- No company name or address published in the terms
- Recognition quality on low-resolution or dark-theme screenshots is unverified
Best for
- developers pulling code out of conference talks and slide decks
- anyone reading code in PDFs or screenshots regularly
- people who prefer a one-off purchase over another subscription
Not for
- non-Chrome users — there is no other client
- teams needing an API or bulk processing
Watch out: The extension is not in the Chrome Web Store — you install it from a private link mailed with the receipt, so updates depend entirely on the vendor staying reachable.
