Use tool ↗About Mistral Vibe
Vibe is Mistral AI's assistant, the product formerly called Le Chat; the rename landed in August 2026 and existing accounts, plans and conversations carried over at the same address. It now runs in three modes: Vibe Work for multi-step productivity tasks across connected apps, Vibe Code for software work as a command-line tool, VS Code extension and web interface, and Vibe Chat for the plain turn-based conversation. The free plan includes web search and basic image generation and editing; paid plans add deep research with sourced analysis, spreadsheet and slide generation, voice input through Voxtral, 100+ connectors such as email, calendar, Slack, GitHub and Jira, and MCP support. It is sold by a Paris-founded European lab that also offers its models through an API.

Pros & cons of Mistral Vibe
The reason to choose Vibe over ChatGPT or Claude is where it is run from, not what it does: a European vendor, a European legal home and a plan that is a few dollars cheaper than the competition. Feature by feature it is a competent second-tier assistant, and the rename to Vibe folds the chat product into a coding-and-agent push that may or may not suit someone who only wanted a chatbot.
Pros
- European vendor with the Pro tier at $14.99, below the $20 standard elsewhere
- One subscription spans chat, deep research, 100+ connectors and a coding mode with CLI and VS Code extension
- Web search and image generation are available on the free plan
- MCP support and open-weight models from the same lab make it easy to move work between the assistant and your own stack
Cons
- Raw model quality still trails the top US labs on the hardest tasks
- The Le Chat to Vibe rename and three-mode split add confusion for people who wanted a chatbot
- Pricing page shows monthly rates only and excludes taxes, so the EU price in practice is higher
- Team plan is per user with a stated storage cap, and Enterprise terms are quote-only
Best for
- European companies and public bodies that want a capable assistant from an EU vendor
- Developers who want chat, a coding CLI and a VS Code extension under one subscription
- Price-sensitive users, since Pro is $14.99 against $20 at the big US rivals
Not for
- People who need the very top of the model leaderboards for hard reasoning or long creative work
- Anyone who wants a stable, single-purpose chatbot, since the product has been repositioned around agents and coding
Watch out: This is the product previously listed as Le Chat; the address and plans are the same but the app now opens into Vibe Work rather than a plain chat, so check the mode before judging the output.
