What our research says

IronClaw

IronClaw takes the part of personal agents everyone hand-waves, what happens to your credentials, and answers it with an encrypted enclave vault plus open source you can read. The repository is busy and drew over 12,000 stars within months of its February 2026 start. That youth is also the risk: a six-month-old agent runtime touching your inbox and GitHub is an early adopter's tool.

Pros

  • Apache-2.0 source on GitHub, so self-hosting is a real option rather than a promise
  • Secrets stay in an encrypted enclave vault instead of passing through the model
  • Model-agnostic across Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral, Ollama and OpenRouter
  • Hosted plans include model credits at face value, starting at $5 a month

Cons

  • The project is only months old and moving fast, so interfaces will churn
  • Credits are the real cost driver; the subscription is largely a credit prepayment
  • Hosted tiers cap agent instances at 2 and 5, and no country or legal entity is published

Lindy

Lindy is for a business team that wants agents acting on real inboxes and calendars this week, with the plumbing to 1,500 apps already done; the skills library and meeting recorder make it closer to a junior colleague than a Zapier flow. The bill is credits per active user, and the free plan is now a seven-day trial rather than a standing tier, so a solo user who wants to run one automation for free should look elsewhere. Engineers who want to own the orchestration will find the canvas limiting.

Pros

  • Trigger-and-steps builder with 40+ reusable skills, no code required
  • Agents can send email, schedule, join meetings and operate a browser on Pro and above
  • 1,500+ integrations plus MCP server support
  • Credits are pooled across the team and top-ups are priced plainly at $10 per 1,000
  • Enterprise tier offers HIPAA with a signed BAA, SSO, SCIM and audit logs

Cons

  • Billing is per active user plus credits, so cost rises with both seats and volume
  • The free plan is a 7-day, $50-credit trial, not an ongoing allowance
  • No yearly pricing or public API is shown on the pricing page
  • Legal entity is Crivello Corp in Oregon, named only in the terms

Which one fits

Choose IronClaw if you need

  • Developers who want an agent they can audit and self-host
  • People uneasy about handing mailbox and repo tokens to a closed SaaS agent
  • Teams standardising on MCP-style tool access across several model providers

Choose Lindy if you need

  • Sales, support and ops teams automating email triage, follow-ups and scheduling
  • Founders who want one agent across Gmail, Slack, Notion and HubSpot without hiring an integrator
  • Teams that record and query their meetings and want the notes to trigger actions
