What our research says

Apex

The idea is sound — the person who most needs an operations assistant is the one whose day happens in a chat app, not a dashboard. Read-only connections with per-tool scoping is the right default. But the site is a waitlist with a founder video, no price, no named company, and no way to evaluate whether any of it works.

Pros

  • Works inside messaging apps the user already has open, with no new interface to learn
  • Connections are read access with per-tool scoping chosen at setup
  • Over a thousand connectable tools listed, spanning mail, CRM, payments and accounting
  • Answers come back with sources attached rather than as bare assertions
  • Builds a persistent company model rather than answering each question cold

Cons

  • Waitlist only — there is no signup, trial or public availability
  • No pricing published at any tier
  • No company name, country or legal entity anywhere on the site
  • Claims are demonstrated by founder videos rather than by a usable product

Lindy

Lindy is for a business team that wants agents acting on real inboxes and calendars this week, with the plumbing to 1,500 apps already done; the skills library and meeting recorder make it closer to a junior colleague than a Zapier flow. The bill is credits per active user, and the free plan is now a seven-day trial rather than a standing tier, so a solo user who wants to run one automation for free should look elsewhere. Engineers who want to own the orchestration will find the canvas limiting.

Pros

  • Trigger-and-steps builder with 40+ reusable skills, no code required
  • Agents can send email, schedule, join meetings and operate a browser on Pro and above
  • 1,500+ integrations plus MCP server support
  • Credits are pooled across the team and top-ups are priced plainly at $10 per 1,000
  • Enterprise tier offers HIPAA with a signed BAA, SSO, SCIM and audit logs

Cons

  • Billing is per active user plus credits, so cost rises with both seats and volume
  • The free plan is a 7-day, $50-credit trial, not an ongoing allowance
  • No yearly pricing or public API is shown on the pricing page
  • Legal entity is Crivello Corp in Oregon, named only in the terms

Which one fits

Choose Apex if you need

  • Owner-operators whose day runs through chat rather than dashboards
  • Chasing quotes and invoices across disconnected systems
  • Teams already using Gmail, HubSpot, Stripe and QuickBooks together

Choose Lindy if you need

  • Sales, support and ops teams automating email triage, follow-ups and scheduling
  • Founders who want one agent across Gmail, Slack, Notion and HubSpot without hiring an integrator
  • Teams that record and query their meetings and want the notes to trigger actions
