What our research says

Ideogram

If the image needs words in it, this is still the model that spells them correctly, and that single capability is worth more than a broader feature list to anyone making posters or packaging — everything else about it is merely competitive.

Pros

  • Text rendering remains the best in the category and is the whole reason to choose it
  • Documented API at docs.ideogram.ai for integration
  • Style presets, region editing and character consistency round it out beyond a bare generator
  • Entry tier at about $8 is cheap next to Midjourney

Cons

  • Credit costs vary by model and quality setting, so plan sizes are hard to translate into images
  • Free tier is a weekly trickle rather than anything usable
  • The pricing page is bot-protected, making prices hard to confirm independently
  • Priority credits are monthly and the queue is genuinely slow without them

Pictorial

Cheap and honest about its scope: point it at a URL, look at six free images, and decide whether 60 more are worth $8.99. What you do not get is control — there is no editing pass, so a batch that misses the mark is simply a batch that missed.

Pros

  • Six images render free and without an account, so the style is visible before payment
  • One-time $8.99 rather than another monthly plan
  • Generation is seeded from the site's own copy, so the set stays on topic
  • Vendor states buyers own the generated images

Cons

  • No editing or refinement — the vendor lists iteration as not yet shipped
  • Output is a fixed batch, so unusable images still count toward the 60
  • No company address, country or support terms published
