What our research says

HireVue

HireVue is built for employers screening thousands of applicants a year who need interviews, assessments and scheduling in one audited system that will survive a procurement and legal review; its explainability statement and fairness studies exist because its AI scoring has been scrutinised for years. A company hiring a few dozen people a year has no need for it and could not buy it without a sales cycle anyway, and candidates still report the one-way video format as impersonal.

Pros

  • Covers screening, interviewing, assessment and scheduling in one platform with 45-plus ATS integrations
  • Publishes an AI explainability statement and cites more than 2,000 model fairness maintenance studies
  • Twenty-plus years in the market, 80 million interviews run and large named customers such as IKEA and Nestlé
  • SOC, ISO and FedRAMP certifications, which matter for public-sector and financial employers

Cons

  • No published pricing or trial; everything starts with a demo request
  • Automated video and voice scoring is still contested by candidates and regulators, so legal review is part of adoption
  • Heavy for anything below several thousand applications a year
  • The facial-analysis episode, dropped in 2020, still shapes how candidates perceive the product

JobXRecruiter

A screening layer that sits in front of whatever ATS you already have and turns a pile of CVs into scored candidates, priced per parse rather than per seat. What you cannot check is who is running it: there is no company name, no address and no named team, which is awkward for a product you would be feeding other people's personal data into.

Pros

  • Parse allowances are explicit per tier rather than hidden behind a quote
  • API access is included from the middle tier, not held for Enterprise
  • Positioned to feed an existing ATS instead of demanding a migration
  • 14-day trial without a card, and 20% off on annual billing

Cons

  • No company name, country, address or founder disclosed anywhere
  • The advertised $0.49-per-CV rate is inconsistent with the published plan allowances
  • Accuracy and volume claims are vendor numbers with no third-party corroboration

Which one fits

Choose HireVue if you need

  • Enterprises with high-volume hourly, campus or call-centre hiring that need structured, asynchronous screening
  • Talent teams in regulated industries that must document how AI is used in selection decisions
  • Organisations replacing phone screens with an AI voice interviewer available 24/7

Choose JobXRecruiter if you need

  • Recruiters drowning in high-volume applicant pools
  • Teams that want scoring without replacing their current ATS
  • Agencies handling several roles at once from one dashboard
