The pricing page now lists Pro (unlimited users, 4,000 questions per guru per month) and Enterprise, both behind 'Talk to sales' with no dollar figures. Extra questions bill in three volume bands, each cheaper per unit, and on-prem or air-gapped deployments have unlimited questions.

Overview

About Gurubase

Gurubase lets a company build what it calls a guru: an agent grounded in internal sources such as Confluence pages, Google Drive files, GitHub repos, Jira and Zendesk tickets, which answers staff or customer questions and links the passage it used. It can call REST endpoints, run workflows and act as both an MCP server and client to fetch live data or take an action, and it is designed to decline rather than guess when its sources have no answer. Answers reach people through a web widget, bots for Slack, Discord, GitHub, Jira and Zendesk, or IDEs over MCP. It runs as a managed cloud hosted in the EU or Türkiye, inside the customer's own cloud, or fully air-gapped, and is made by Ddosify Inc.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of Gurubase

high confidence

A grounded-answer agent aimed at teams that care more about a citation and a refusal than about fluent prose. The integration list is unusually deep for a product this young, and actions plus MCP mean it can do more than answer. The catch is cost visibility: both plans now go through sales and the pricing page no longer shows a figure, so expect an enterprise-style negotiation rather than a self-serve purchase.

Pros

  • Answers carry links back to the source passage, and the product is designed to decline when the corpus does not cover a question
  • Reaches live data through REST calls, Python execution and MCP rather than only reading a static index
  • Ships as bots for Slack, Discord, GitHub, Jira and Zendesk plus a web widget
  • Enterprise tier offers self-hosted and air-gapped deployment with SSO, RBAC and audit logs

Cons

  • Both plans are 'Talk to sales'; no price is shown on the pricing page
  • Question volume above the plan allowance is billed in metered bands on top of the subscription
  • API access and custom models are held back for the Enterprise tier
  • Pro limits are counted per guru, so several departments mean several gurus

Best for

  • internal IT or HR helpdesks with a large document corpus
  • support teams that need answers traced back to a source
  • companies already on Confluence, Jira and Zendesk

Not for

  • solo users or small teams on a tight budget
  • anyone wanting a general-purpose chatbot rather than one bound to their own documents

Watch out: Pro allowances are counted per guru, not per workspace, so splitting knowledge across departments is likely to multiply the bill; confirm how sales prices extra gurus.
