Use tool ↗About ChatBotKit
ChatBotKit supplies the runtime around an LLM agent: knowledge bases assembled from uploaded documents, tool and MCP calling, moderation and PII filtering, and conversation logging. One configuration deploys the same agent to web widgets, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp and Telegram. It ships SDKs for Node, Python, Go, React and Next.js plus a CLI and a Terraform provider, so account resources can be managed as code.

Pros & cons of ChatBotKit
A sensible middle ground for developers who want retrieval, guardrails and channel deployment handled for them and are fine paying a markup on model tokens. If you already run your own vector store and orchestration, you are mostly paying for a wrapper.
Pros
- A Terraform provider and CLI are unusual at this price point
- Multiple model providers supported instead of a single-vendor lock-in
- Guardrails, moderation and audit trails are included rather than sold as add-ons
- Five deployment channels covered without separate connectors
Cons
- Billing runs on a proprietary 'credit token' unit, making real cost per conversation hard to forecast
- Bot and conversation caps bite before the token pool does on the $25 tier
- Small UK entity with no disclosed funding, which is a supply risk for production workloads
- The free trial applies to the Pro plan rather than being a standing free tier
Best for
- Agencies shipping support or sales bots for multiple clients
- Teams that need one agent live on Slack, Discord and a web widget simultaneously
- Developers who want bot configuration under infrastructure-as-code
Not for
- Teams already running their own orchestration stack on their own infrastructure
- Non-technical buyers looking for a point-and-click support bot
Watch out: Credit tokens convert to underlying model tokens at different rates per model, so pointing an agent at a larger model can multiply consumption without any visible plan change.
