What our research says

Glean

Glean is the reference implementation of permission-aware enterprise search, and permissions are the hard part everyone else underestimates. It is also priced so that only companies with a real sprawl problem can justify it.

Pros

  • Permission inheritance from each connected system is done properly, not approximated
  • Answers cite and link the underlying documents rather than paraphrasing them away
  • Connector coverage across the mainstream SaaS estate is broad
  • Commercially solid: about $300M ARR by May 2026 at a $7.2B valuation

Cons

  • No published price anywhere, and contracts start in six figures
  • Value depends entirely on connector coverage of your specific stack
  • Index quality inherits whatever mess exists in the source systems
  • Overlaps increasingly with Microsoft and Google's bundled offerings, which cost nothing extra

GoSearch

A credible mid-market enterprise search product with a published per-seat price, which is rare in this category. It sits inside GoLinks' wider suite, so the short-link and employee-directory products come along as neighbours. The limits are the usual ones: the API and every enterprise control sit behind a sales call, and the free tier is too small to evaluate on.

Pros

  • 100+ connectors covering native integrations, MCP and custom sources
  • Pro is priced publicly at $20 per user per month with unlimited searches and agents
  • Custom agents and no-code multi-step workflows run on the same index as search
  • SOC 2 Type II with zero data retention and bring-your-own cloud or model on Enterprise
  • Slack, Teams and a browser extension put it where people already work

Cons

  • The GoSearch API is Enterprise-only, so automation needs a sales conversation
  • Free plan is capped at 10 searches and 3 AI queries a day
  • Per-seat pricing gets expensive across a whole company compared with a flat platform fee

  • Mid-sized teams that want enterprise search with a price on the page
  • Companies already using GoLinks or GoProfiles
  • Teams needing answers grounded in Slack, Jira, Notion and Salesforce at once
