Glean vs GoLinks

Two fact sheets from our own research, side by side — pricing, platforms, API access and status re-checked by us rather than quoted from the vendors. GoLinks publishes a starting price ($2); Glean does not. Only GoLinks has a free tier. Both ship a public API.

What our research says

Glean

Glean is the reference implementation of permission-aware enterprise search, and permissions are the hard part everyone else underestimates. It is also priced so that only companies with a real sprawl problem can justify it.

Pros

  • Permission inheritance from each connected system is done properly, not approximated
  • Answers cite and link the underlying documents rather than paraphrasing them away
  • Connector coverage across the mainstream SaaS estate is broad
  • Commercially solid: about $300M ARR by May 2026 at a $7.2B valuation

Cons

  • No published price anywhere, and contracts start in six figures
  • Value depends entirely on connector coverage of your specific stack
  • Index quality inherits whatever mess exists in the source systems
  • Overlaps increasingly with Microsoft and Google's bundled offerings, which cost nothing extra

GoLinks

Solves a small, real problem - nobody can remember where the payroll doc lives - and then builds search on top of the map that solves it. The AI layer only starts at the $4 Pro tier, so the cheap plan is a well-run link shortener rather than a search product.

Pros

  • Link types beyond a plain redirect: variables, geo-routing, private, unlisted, aliases and QR codes
  • Free tier covers up to 20 users with unlimited links, not a trial
  • Around fifty integrations plus browser extensions and mobile apps
  • Enterprise tier exposes an API and webhooks with a 99.95% SLA

Cons

  • The AI search is gated to Pro; Basic is just link management
  • The pricing page demands a work email login, which is a poor look for a $2 product
  • Per-user billing counts anyone who creates, edits or regularly uses links, so cost tracks headcount

Which one fits

Choose Glean if you need

  • Organisations above roughly 500 people whose knowledge is scattered across a dozen SaaS tools
  • Regulated or security-conscious buyers who need source-system permissions honoured exactly
  • Teams building internal agents that need governed access to company context

Choose GoLinks if you need

  • Companies where the same handful of internal documents get re-asked in chat every week
  • Teams already using go/ links informally who want them to actually resolve
  • Organisations wanting one place to point at across Slack, Jira, GitHub and Salesforce
