Overview

About Equal Time

Equal Time joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls to transcribe and summarise them, with action items, search across meetings and a chat that answers questions about past calls. On top of the notes it measures participation: talk time per speaker and by gender, interruptions, sentiment, and a detector that flags moments read as mansplaining, with timestamps and the speakers involved. Coaching notes point out hedging language and facilitation habits. A single-user Premium plan sits under a five-seat Team plan with admin oversight and team-wide inclusion metrics, and a quoted Company License adds SSO, CRM sync and white labelling.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of Equal Time

high confidence

Equal Time is a meeting notetaker built around participation fairness: it tracks who talked, who got interrupted and flags moments that read as condescending re-explaining, on top of a standard transcript and action items. A single seat now costs $15 a month on annual billing, and the five-seat Team plan adds admin oversight and team-wide inclusion trends.

Pros

  • Tracks talk time, interruptions, and monologuing per speaker, not just a transcript
  • Includes a detector for condescending re-explaining with timestamps and involved speakers
  • Integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Notion and thousands more apps via Zapier
  • Works across Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams

Cons

  • Team-wide inclusion metrics and admin oversight start at the 5-seat Team plan, $80 a month on annual billing
  • Month-to-month billing costs more than the annual rate ($18 vs $15 per seat for Premium)

Best for

  • Teams actively trying to measure and improve who gets airtime in meetings
  • Organizations already invested in DEI or inclusive-meeting initiatives wanting data to back it up

Not for

  • People who only need free transcription, since every plan is paid after a 7-day trial
  • Teams that only want a plain transcript without participation analytics

Watch out: The mansplaining detector relies on a language model's read of tone and pattern, so treat its flags as a conversation-starter rather than an objective verdict.
