Overview

About Doctor Droid

Doctor Droid (DrDroid) connects to Kubernetes clusters, cloud accounts, telemetry tools, and code repositories to build a running knowledge graph of a team's infrastructure. When an alert fires, its investigation agent traces the issue across pods, deployments, and logs and proposes a root cause instead of leaving an engineer to grep through dashboards. It works from Slack or Microsoft Teams, through a web dashboard, or triggered by API calls from CI/CD pipelines, and it also ships an MCP server so it can be queried from Claude or Cursor. The company is backed by Y Combinator (W23) and was founded in 2022 by Siddarth Jain and Dipesh Mittal.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of Doctor Droid

medium confidence

DrDroid is built specifically for the moment an alert fires and someone has to figure out why, wiring cluster state, logs, and telemetry into one trace instead of five open tabs. It's aimed at small-to-mid engineering teams already paying for a stack of observability tools it can sit on top of, not teams looking for a single monitoring tool to start from scratch.

Pros

  • Builds a live knowledge graph across pods, deployments, and infra rather than a static dashboard
  • Works from Slack/Teams so triage doesn't require switching tools
  • Ships an MCP server for use from Claude or Cursor
  • Can be triggered from CI/CD via API

Cons

  • No permanent free tier, only a 14-day trial
  • Pricing is credit-metered with per-credit top-up charges, which can get unpredictable under heavy incident volume
  • Needs an existing stack of integrations connected before it's useful

Best for

  • Platform and SRE teams doing on-call for Kubernetes
  • Teams that already have telemetry/observability tools and want an investigation layer on top
  • Teams wanting Slack-native incident triage

Not for

  • Teams without existing monitoring/telemetry to connect
  • Solo developers or very small projects where credit-based pricing doesn't pencil out

Watch out: The $99/month Startup tier includes only 99 investigation credits per month with $1 top-ups, so cost scales with how often things actually break.
