Paid plans start with a 7-day trial that needs a card.
Use tool ↗About AI2SQL
AI2SQL turns a plain-English request into SQL in the dialect of the database you pick, and can also explain, format, optimize or repair an existing query. On the Pro and Team plans it connects to a live database with read-only credentials, builds a semantic layer from the schema and runs the generated query so you see the rows. It covers PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, MongoDB, SQLite and Firebird, and is also reachable as an MCP server from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, through a governed REST gateway for agents, and from a desktop connector for databases that stay on a private network.

Pros & cons of AI2SQL
Useful for analysts and product people who read SQL but do not write it fluently, especially against dialects they touch rarely, and the Pro plan's live read-only connection means you check the answer, not just the query. The October pricing is friendlier than before: database connections and the desktop app now sit on the $19 Pro plan, and a small free plan exists. If your team already pays for a coding assistant or a BI tool with a natural-language layer, this is a duplicate line item.
Pros
- Ten dialects including Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift and MongoDB
- Read-only enforcement at the gateway rather than trusting the model
- Desktop connector reaches localhost and private-network databases
- MCP server works from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor on every plan
- One-time lifetime option for people who dislike subscriptions
Cons
- The $9 Start plan caps you at 100 queries a month and cannot connect your own database
- Free plan is limited to 3 queries a day on a demo database
- Trials require a card
- Company ownership and location are not disclosed on the site
Best for
- Non-engineers pulling ad-hoc numbers from a warehouse
- Translating a query between dialects such as Postgres and BigQuery
- Teams wiring AI agents to a database through a read-only, logged endpoint
Not for
- Teams whose IDE assistant already sees the schema
- Complex analytical SQL where correctness must be reviewed line by line anyway
Watch out: Connecting your own database needs Pro ($19) or Team; on Start the tool only writes SQL without seeing your schema, and the 7-day trial bills automatically unless cancelled.
