What our research says

CopyKitten

CopyKitten packages real-time voice cloning as a Discord party trick, with a consent step and deletion command that at least attempt to keep it from being used on someone who hasn't agreed. We couldn't reach the vendor's own site to verify pricing or company details, so treat the specifics here as secondhand.

Pros

  • Clones a usable voice from a short, roughly 30-second sample
  • Requires target-member approval before cloning proceeds
  • Moderation tools (logs, transcripts, per-user deletion) are built in

Cons

  • Vendor's own site would not resolve for us on repeated attempts
  • No pricing, company name, or location could be confirmed
  • Voice-cloning bots carry an inherent risk of misuse regardless of consent features

Voicemod

Still the default voice changer for Discord and stream setups, and the free tier is usable — but the company has stopped publishing prices, which is an odd thing for a consumer app to do.

Pros

  • Operates at the system audio level, so any application picks it up without integration
  • Free tier is genuinely usable, just on a rotating subset of voices
  • VoiceLab allows custom voices rather than presets alone

Cons

  • No pricing page on the site — the price only appears after installing
  • Windows and macOS only
  • Free tier rotates its voice selection and caps you at one soundboard
  • Real-time processing adds noticeable CPU load on weaker machines
