What our research says

Voice.ai

Unusual in covering both the gaming/streaming voice-changer job and business phone agents from one account. If you only need one of those, a specialist will give you better quality per dollar.

Pros

  • permanent free plan with 5k credits a month
  • $5 entry tier is very low for a product that includes voice cloning
  • live voice changing and telephony agents share one account and balance
  • published Python and TypeScript SDKs plus an on-premise deployment path

Cons

  • credits obscure cost comparisons against per-character or per-minute rivals
  • steep gap between the $12 Launch tier and the $99 Core tier
  • the product surface sprawls from gaming toys to enterprise telephony
  • free tier caps each conversion at 500 characters

Voicemod

Still the default voice changer for Discord and stream setups, and the free tier is usable — but the company has stopped publishing prices, which is an odd thing for a consumer app to do.

Pros

  • Operates at the system audio level, so any application picks it up without integration
  • Free tier is genuinely usable, just on a rotating subset of voices
  • VoiceLab allows custom voices rather than presets alone

Cons

  • No pricing page on the site — the price only appears after installing
  • Windows and macOS only
  • Free tier rotates its voice selection and caps you at one soundboard
  • Real-time processing adds noticeable CPU load on weaker machines

Which one fits

Choose Voice.ai if you need

  • streamers and gamers swapping voices live on Discord or in-game
  • small teams trialling an AI phone receptionist without enterprise pricing
  • cheap voice clones for prototypes and internal demos
  • cleaning up audio (noise removal, vocal isolation) next to generation

Choose Voicemod if you need

  • Streamers and Discord users wanting effects across every app at once
  • Creators who need voice presets and a soundboard in the same overlay
  • Anyone building a character voice for VTubing or roleplay
