Beancount.io is a hosted workspace built on the open Beancount plain-text, double-entry accounting format. Each ledger is a Git repository, so every transaction is a reviewable commit that can be branched or rolled back, and reports render through a hosted Fava. Entries can be typed by hand, imported from CSV or OFX, pulled in through bank sync, or drafted by an AI assistant from receipts and statements. REST, GraphQL and a Model Context Protocol server let scripts and AI agents query or write the books, and iOS and Android apps sit beside the web app. The service is run by Stargately, Inc.; the mobile client is MIT-licensed on GitHub.
