What our research says

Atono

Atono's bet is that the expensive part of AI-assisted development is context, not code, so it stores glossary, decisions and analytics on the story and serves them over MCP. Feature flags living on the story definition is a genuinely tidy idea that removes one tool from the stack. The free tier at 25 users is generous, but the 150-backlog-item cap will hit a real team quickly and the AI features are only a 30-day trial there.

Pros

  • MCP server feeds product context straight into Claude, Cursor and Copilot
  • Feature flags are controlled from the story rather than a separate service
  • Glossary is built from your own documents, so naming stays consistent
  • Free tier allows 25 users, and SSO/SAML appears on the $19 tier rather than enterprise-only

Cons

  • Free tier caps open backlog items at 150 and only trials the AI features for 30 days
  • $19 per user is above what a plain tracker costs
  • No address or founding year on the site; only the terms point to California law

Productboard

Productboard has moved fully upmarket: the free and $19 Plus plans are gone, and both remaining tiers are sold through a demo or sales call with Spark, its AI agent, built in. It is still a mature feedback-to-roadmap system for product organisations, but small teams no longer have a self-serve way in.

  • Long operating history (founded 2014) with named enterprise customers
  • AI agent (Spark) adds context-aware insight generation and spec drafting
  • MCP server and connectors included on Business, plus API access

Cons

  • No public price: Business needs a demo request and Enterprise a sales call
