Use tool ↗About Tube Transcripts
Tube Transcripts is a Chrome extension from Niche Mates that adds a button to YouTube Studio for ordering an AI transcript of an upload and publishing it as captions, so creators do not leave the upload flow. The site claims about 90 percent accuracy out of the box, a three-minute turnaround for a ten-minute video and a cost of about five cents a minute, with an editor for correcting words before publishing and keyword-aware output pitched at YouTube search. Plans are metered by transcribed minutes per month, with 30 free minutes and no card to start. The Chrome Web Store listing shows about 1,000 users and a last update in November 2022.

Pros & cons of Tube Transcripts
YouTube Transcripts is narrowly built to solve one problem: getting captions onto a YouTube upload without leaving Studio or paying human-transcription rates. The minute-based tiers mean cost scales directly with upload frequency, which suits regular creators more than occasional ones.
Pros
- Works directly inside YouTube Studio instead of a separate upload step
- Built-in editor for correcting low-confidence words before publishing
- Free 30-minute trial with no credit card required
Cons
- Chrome extension only, no mobile or standalone web app
- Accuracy is self-reported at around 90 percent, not independently verified here
- Unused minutes on lower tiers are capped monthly rather than rolling over
Best for
- Creators who upload on a regular schedule and need captions fast
- Channels targeting search-driven discovery through keyword-aware captions
Not for
- Anyone who needs transcripts outside of YouTube Studio
- Occasional uploaders who would not use the monthly minute allowance
Watch out: The Chrome extension was last updated in November 2022, so use the free 30 minutes to confirm it still works in today's YouTube Studio before paying for a month.
