Overview

About Ultimaps

Ultimaps imports data from Excel, CSV, Google Sheets or Notion and color-codes regions on any of 200-plus maps of countries, states, counties and ZIP areas, then exports the result as PNG, SVG or PDF or publishes it as an embeddable interactive map. It is used for sales territories, real-estate portfolios, election and demographic maps, and showing a company's coverage, with address lookups and AI requests metered per month. A Map Image API renders a choropleth or pin map from a single URL with no key, and larger or vector renders take a key. Anyone can build a map for free without signing up; the terms are governed by Spanish law and prices are set in euros.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of Ultimaps

medium confidence

Ultimaps is a fast way to turn a spreadsheet into a presentable map without opening a full GIS tool, and the free tier is genuinely usable since it needs no signup to create a map and even embeds interactive maps. The catch is that free exports carry an Ultimaps credit and are standard-resolution PNG only; a clean vector file costs a one-off fee per map or the Pro plan, both billed in euros.

Pros

  • No signup required to build and export a basic map for free
  • 200-plus vector map templates covering countries, regions, counties and ZIP areas
  • SVG and PDF export, interactive embeds and a keyless map-image API, not just static images
  • One-off paid export per map for people who need a single clean file

Cons

  • Free-tier exports carry Ultimaps attribution and are limited to PNG
  • No company name or founder information is disclosed beyond a Spanish governing-law clause

Best for

  • Sales or ops teams building quick territory maps from a spreadsheet
  • Anyone needing a one-off data map without learning GIS software

Not for

  • Teams needing detailed city- or postal-code-level geocoding
  • Users who need the company's identity disclosed before paying

Watch out: Free exports are watermarked with attribution; removing it requires the Pro plan.
