Overview

About Graph Maker

Graph Maker takes a CSV or spreadsheet upload, a Google Sheet or sample data, plus a typed question such as 'orders by region', and draws a bar, line, pie, scatter or histogram chart; a chat mode answers questions about the data in plain language. It uses a language model to interpret and clean the data before plotting, and the site states uploaded data is not stored. It was built by engineers at the form-builder company Fillout as a side project, and support goes to a Fillout address. The free tier has a usage cap; Pro removes it.

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of Graph Maker

medium confidence

Graph Maker is a quick way to turn a spreadsheet into a labeled chart without opening Excel, and it works well for a single ad hoc chart. It reads like a side project rather than an actively maintained product — the pricing page 404s, the bare apex domain serves an expired certificate, and the update its own creators talk about publicly dates to 2023.

Pros

  • Accepts plain-language chart requests instead of manual chart configuration
  • Reads CSV and Google Sheets directly
  • States it does not retain uploaded data
  • Free tier needs no signup friction beyond the basic flow

Cons

  • No pricing page is published; the $15/month Pro price appears only in the in-app upgrade dialog
  • The www subdomain works but the bare apex domain fails on an expired TLS certificate
  • Reads as a side project with no recent public update

Best for

  • one-off charts from a CSV or Google Sheet
  • quick data visualization without manual axis/series setup
  • people who already use Fillout forms and want to chart the responses

Not for

  • teams needing an actively maintained dashboard tool with support
  • anyone who wants to see a price before signing up

Watch out: Navigating to the bare graphmaker.ai domain (without www) hits a certificate error in some browsers; use the www address instead.
