Syft is a mobile news reader where the feed is built from topics you type rather than publishers you subscribe to. Each topic becomes a channel; the app pulls from outlets worldwide, summarises stories into key takeaways and delivers one daily digest, crossing languages so a story filed in Japanese or Portuguese still reaches you. It also generates audio versions of the digest and answers follow-up questions about what it gathered through an 'Ask Syft' feature. Orion Arm Ltd runs it and ships iOS and Android apps only. The free tier allows ten followed topics and a trimmed digest; the Plus tier raises that to a hundred topics with the full digest and higher podcast and question limits, but no price is published on the website.

Delivering one digest a day instead of a live feed is a deliberate anti-doomscroll choice. The cost is editorial: you are reading a model's summary of an outlet you did not choose, and the app never shows you what it decided to leave out.
Watch out: You are reading a summary of a summary — the app rarely surfaces the original article's own wording, which matters when the story is contested.
