What our research says

Receiptix

Receiptix covers the everyday-budgeting side of receipt scanning well, with capture options (photo, voice, WhatsApp, Telegram, a Chrome extension) that go beyond a typical scan-and-categorize app. The downside is that Pro pricing is hidden until you're inside the app, so you can't compare cost before signing up.

Pros

  • Multiple capture paths: photo, voice note, WhatsApp/Telegram bot, and a Chrome extension for online receipts
  • Syncs across phone, web, and Apple Watch
  • Generates visual spending reports automatically after each scan

Cons

  • Pro plan pricing isn't published anywhere outside the app's upgrade screen
  • No web-visible feature comparison between Free and Pro beyond a short bullet list

SparkReceipt

Does the boring part of bookkeeping well: email capture and bank-statement parsing mean you are not photographing every document by hand. The catch is that there is one plan and no free tier, so it is a commitment from day one.

Pros

  • Email inbox capture from Gmail, Outlook and IMAP
  • Bank statement extraction, not just receipt photos
  • Direct sync to QuickBooks Online and Xero, plus Zapier and Make
  • iOS and Android apps alongside the web app

Cons

  • Single paid plan, with only a 7-day trial below it
  • Extra seats billed separately at $58/year
  • No published methodology behind the 99.9% accuracy claim
