Free is 1,000 words a month on Mac and web with no card. Paid Personal, Plus and Pro plans (longer recordings, file upload, translation and style matching on Plus and up) are billed monthly or yearly, but prices render only in the browser and the page runs an A/B price test — the product feed lists Personal at $10/month or $84/year, with a $7.50/month variant — so no single entry price is recorded.
Use tool ↗About RambleFix
RambleFix, previously TalkText, is voice-to-text that does not stop at the transcript. You talk, and it returns the finished piece — an email, a note, meeting minutes, a social post or an AI prompt — with filler and false starts removed, action items pulled out and a summary attached. The Mac app types into whatever window holds the cursor via a hotkey, so Slack, Notion and Google Docs all work, and a browser version runs on desktop and iPhone. Dictation covers more than 30 languages, audio is deleted after transcription, and the vendor says recordings are not used for training. The free tier is 1,000 words a month with no card; Appetite for Distraction LLC runs it.

Pros & cons of RambleFix
The useful distinction here is between transcription and drafting: RambleFix takes the messy spoken version and gives you the tidy written one, which is what most people actually wanted from dictation. Working system-wide on the Mac matters more than it sounds, because it removes the copy-paste step. Prices that only show up in the browser, and differ between visitors, are the main annoyance.
Pros
- Cleans filler and false starts and produces a finished document, not a raw transcript
- Types into any Mac app, so no copy-paste step between dictation and destination
- Pulls action items and summaries out of meeting recordings
- Audio is deleted after transcription and is not used for training; over 30 languages supported
Cons
- Paid prices only appear in the browser and vary under an A/B price test
- 1,000 free words a month is a couple of long emails, not a real trial
- The native app is Mac only; Windows is not offered
- No public API found, so it cannot be wired into another workflow
Best for
- Drafting emails and notes faster by talking than typing
- Turning a recorded meeting into minutes with action items
- People who dictate in more than one language
Not for
- Verbatim transcripts where every word must be preserved
- Windows or Linux users wanting system-wide dictation — the native app is Mac only
Watch out: The product was called TalkText — talktext.io now just redirects here, so older bookmarks and reviews are under the old name.
